Injuries

Injuries

Injuries are a risk factor for trauma, including dental trauma. Most traumatic injuries to teeth arise from accidents during normal, everyday activities such as informal play or sports. The wearing of mouthguards or helmets with face shields during organised contact sports will reduce the likelihood of traumatic injuries to the head, face and teeth. The wearing of safety helmets (e.g., for cycling, skate boarding) and of car seatbelts is also advised.
