October is ADHD Awareness Month.
Did you know that oral hygiene and toothbrushing is an important part of self-care?
Being organised and making time for a good oral health routine may help a person to feel less overwhelmed, and is also important for maintaining good overall health and well-being.
Why not create a positive daily routine by including some of our suggestions:
- Brush your teeth twice a day
- Drink lots of water
- Reduce your intake of sugary foods and drinks
You can also make toothbrushing part of a daily relaxing mindfulness exercise to help with ADHD symptoms such as anxiety.
- Feel the sensation of the bristles on your gums and teeth.
- Focus on your breathing
- Notice how fresh your mouth feels when you have finished brushing
- Play your favourite tune while brushing your teeth.
