The Dental Health Foundation is celebrating World Oral Health Day!
Our Mission is 'Optimal Oral Health for All'
Oral Health is an essential part of our overall health and wellbeing. It allows us to speak, smile, touch, chew, laugh, taste, swallow and increases our self-esteem and confidence. Poor oral health is linked to diseases such as diabetes, heart disease and obesity.
Tooth decay, which is diet related, is the most common chronic childhood disease. The good news is that it is preventable.
Our Call to Action for World Oral Health Day is Be Mouth Proud and look after your oral health by following the 3P's:
- Protect Your Mouth – with fluoride toothpaste.
- Prevent Decay – Reduce the number of sugary foods and drinks you consume daily. Eat healthy snacks like fruit and veg. Water and milk are the most tooth-friendly drinks.
- Practice Good Oral Care – brush your teeth twice a day and floss daily. Visit your dentist at least once a year.
Keep Smiling!
