The Dental Health Foundation as a member of Alcohol Health Alliance Ireland is happy to support and co-sign this open letter regarding minimum unit pricing (MUP) for alcohol products - a central policy pillar of the Public Health Alcohol Act.
MUP can save lives. It is a proven price measure to reduce alcohol use and is robustly supported by the WHO, and evidence from other states demonstrate its capacity to reduce acute alcohol episodes, overall consumption and lessen alcohol harms.
