The Dental Health Foundation welcomes today’s introduction of Minimum Unit Pricing on Alcohol

Alcohol use is a leading risk factor for global disease burden and causes substantial health loss. In 2016, 928, 841 deaths in the WHO European Region were estimated to be alcohol-attributable. Alcohol is also one of the main risk factors for mouth head and neck cancer.

The Dental Health Foundation welcomes today’s introduction of Minimum Unit Pricing as an important part of Government policy to encourage the lowering of people’s levels of alcohol consumption and improve their health and well-being.
